That day was powerful, but no promises were made. The traveler left deeply moved but continued his journey to the remote Amazon tribes.
Six months later, while driving home from another state, he suddenly felt the Lord speak to his heart:
“Send Wilma money. Send this amount each month.”
At first, he tried to brush it off. Surely, that couldn’t be God… right?
But the prompting wouldn’t leave. So, in obedience, he figured out how to get funds to Wilma and sent the exact amount God had placed on his heart.

And all of it would happen under the banner of discipleship. While learning to sew, these women would also study God’s Word — discovering that the same God who clothes the lilies of the field also cares deeply for them.
A Global Thread of God’s Provision
Here’s where God’s story gets even richer.
Around the same time, a friend from across the world had donated funds to help an indigenous group facing starvation. Out of that same gift — given with compassion and faith — came the first purchase of sewing machines for Wilma’s widows.
They never met. They didn’t know each other’s names.
But God knew them all.
And through one person’s obedience, another’s faith, and Wilma’s unwavering devotion, an entire community was transformed.
